When in Baler

                    When we hear Baler Aurora, the first thing that comes into our minds is surfing! And without a doubt it is a fact that Sabang beach in Baler, Aurora is a real surfer’s paradise, moreover it is not popular only in surfing but also with its natural beauty and other attractions.

             Baler is the capital of the province of Aurora. It is located at the east coast of Luzon, the main reason it hosts big roaring waves from the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by mountains of Sierra Madre. Knowing its location, already we can say that Baler is an adventure site, best for those who want to escape from the noise of the city. Its isolation has preserved so much of its beauty, culture and historical sites.

Accessibility? No problem, Genesis Transport Service is the only bus company that will directly take you from the metro to Baler, it is located in Cubao terminal. Going around Baler, there are lots of beautiful sites that can be found aside from its beaches. Tricycle is the common mode of transportation in Baler with a minimum fare of P10 per person. It is also the cheapest way to travel around Baler if you don’t have a car. There are alsotour guides around Baler wherein you will ride a trike for as lows as P700 andit will tour you on its famous attractions like (Baler Museum, Baler church,Ermita hill, Diguisit falls, Mother falls and the old balete tree.) A bit of a tip, if you are planning to go among all of this places you should want to arrive earlier because the distance between them is a bit far so travel may consume most of your time but at least you get to enjoy the view!

     There are a lot of hotels around Baler and Sabang beach (if you are planning to go only for surfing). There are also a lot of inns, ranging from budget to budget.

Where to Eat in Baler?  

     Dining in Baler, it should not be a problem if you are staying in a hotel. Most of the hotels around Sabang beach have their own restaurants that are open to the public. But when we are in Baler we chose to travel around and find somewhere to eat.Travelling around we arrived at a buffet called Chef Jerry Shan’s Place in the plaza where you can enjoy a buffet for only P199, very affordable! And of course delicious!

What to do in Baler?

     Surf! Surfing is the primary tourist attraction in Baler and the hotels offer board rentals. The standard rate is at P350 per hour along side with a surf guide in case you don’t know how to surf. They also offer other sports like Scuba diving, kayaking, and other water sports. Aside from surfing of course you can travel around beautiful attractions, from waterfalls, churches, hills other beaches and the Balete tree

     All in all, Baler is great site if you are planning to go out and unwind, escape the noise and stress of the city, Baler is a place I would personally recommend.
